From shugazer@is.dal.ca Sun May 9 12:05:17 1999 Date: 14 May 95 03:57:08 -0300 From: help-hope-less Newsgroups: alt.gothic Subject: sexdeathandacigarette. im sitting on the grave stone of someon named "laticia" which i thought was a frenchname- and so seems strange in a graveyard this old with a mostly irish-engligh ancestory (a lot of masons here...)- anyway its clearnight sky and sweater/overcoat cool, and im just having a cigarette in the dark after walking a friend home, and im watching the hustlers under the streetlamps of the adjacent road...there are cars prowling slowly up and down the street (the moon has a halo around it and i sort wonder what this signifies, if anything...)- and there's this one guy leaning against an iron park fence with a jacket that looks awfully thin for this night. and his face is terribly blank, just vacant, and each car slwos as it passes, each driver hunched over as if fearing recognition but they pass by over and over again...ugly. i've never seen sex quite as sad, and ugly and vacant as down there with these guys- everyone seems so desperate while hating being there...which brings me to my question- is there too much sex in goth? repressed, or free? do you see the same despearation in the eyes of the clubgoers- an air of hunger? is it invigorating or just sad? i know these two scenerios aren't comparable- but i'll have to admit one reminded me of the other...the air of desperation/despairation clings everywhere these days. notsosure, chris.
